Go Cliff Diving

36.  Go Cliff Diving

This one was totally unplanned.  I have been cliff-diving before in Canada with some friends from high school (60 ft).  I remember how much of a rush it was, and how hard it was to actually jump once I looked down.  It was definitely a personal challenge, so I had my mind set to do it again this, but had no plans for when.  After sea-kayaking on our recent Upper Peninsula vacation, I asked our guide, Alexandra, if she had one day to do anything in Marquette, what would she do?  She gave us some great ideas for places to visit, eat, and of course, outdoor activities we should try. She recommended a place called "Black Rocks."  It's part of the Presque Isle Peninsula park in Marquette, MI.  I looked into it on the internet, found driving directions, and Corey, Chris, Jess, and I headed out to cliff dive.  When we arrived, we didn't really know where to go, so we just kind of followed some teenagers in swimsuits.  Eventually, we came to a clearing where there were some pretty clear areas of drop off for jumping.  Chris jumped first, then Corey, then me and Jess.  We all did it!  We met some really cool people while we were there as well.  Definitely a worthwhile thing to do while in Marquette.
